Native uses iOS native speech recognition to analyze your pronunciation in real-time. Simply speak into your device's microphone during lessons, and you'll receive instant feedback on your accuracy. All audio processing happens locally on your device for privacy.
Q: Can I use the app offline?
Yes! Once you've downloaded lessons, you can practice offline. Speech recognition works offline using iOS's on-device capabilities. However, you'll need an internet connection to sync progress and download new lessons.
Q: Which languages are supported?
Currently, Native supports learning French, Spanish, and English. The app interface is also available in these three languages. We're working on adding more languages based on user feedback!
Q: Is my audio recorded or stored?
No. Your audio is processed locally on your device using Apple's speech recognition APIs and is never stored or transmitted to our servers. We take your privacy seriously - see our Privacy Policy for details.
Q: How is my progress tracked?
The app tracks your lesson completions, pronunciation accuracy scores, and overall progress. This data is stored securely and helps personalize your learning experience. You can view your progress in the app's statistics section.
Q: Why isn't speech recognition working?
Make sure you've granted microphone permissions to Native in iOS Settings. Also ensure you're in a quiet environment and speaking clearly. If issues persist, try restarting the app or checking your device's microphone functionality.
Q: How do I submit feedback or report a bug?
Use the in-app feedback feature available in the app's settings. You can categorize your feedback as general, bug report, or feature request. We review all feedback to improve the app!
Q: Is Native free to use?
Yes! Native is currently free to download and use. We're focused on building the best language learning experience possible.
Q: What iOS version do I need?
Native requires iOS 15.0 or later to take advantage of modern speech recognition and SwiftUI features.
Q: How do I delete my data?
To delete your local data, simply delete the app from your device. To request deletion of data stored on our servers (progress tracking, feedback), contact us using the email below with your device ID (found in app settings).
